As the Core Network Engineer / Network Testing Engineer, you will oversee the testing of a new mobile core and services across lab, pre-production, and production environments. This role involves close collaboration with technical teams to manage end-to-end network quality, ensuring excellent performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Telecom Network Testing (2G, 3G, 4G): Conduct end-to-end testing for voice, SMS, and data services, ensuring quality across network generations.
- SBC and STP Analysis: Perform tracing and troubleshooting for Session Border Controllers (SBC) and Signal Transfer Points (STP), focusing on signalling and media flows.
- MVNO Component Testing: Test MVNO components (HSS, GGSN/PGW, HLR, MSC) to ensure seamless customer experience.
- Protocol Analysis: Use Wireshark and other tools to decode protocols (SS7, SIP, Diameter, GTP), resolving issues with voice, SMS, and data flows.
- Device and Mobile Core Testing: Lead testing for mobile core integration and device compatibility within lab settings.
- Defect Tracking: Identify and track issues using Jira or similar tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve network defects.
- Performance Monitoring and Automation (Optional): Employ monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix) and automate test cases where feasible to streamline QA.
Skills & Experience Required
- Telecom Expertise: Strong understanding of 2G, 3G, and 4G networks, including call flows, data flows, and SMS across MVNO environments.
- Network Protocols & Analysis: Proficiency with Wireshark for protocol analysis (SS7, SIP, GTP) and troubleshooting.
- MVNO Integration: Experience with MVNO architecture and network element testing.
- Defect Tracking & Monitoring: Skilled in defect management (Jira) and performance monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix).
