Construction Inspector - Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTTX, FTTH, Fiber Optic networks)
Location: Site based - travelling to locations in Southern Ireland
We're seeking a skilled Civils Construction Inspector to join our dynamic team. As a key player in our operations, you'll be responsible for overseeing the construction of duct and fibre cabling networks, ensuring seamless provision of Telecommunications and FttH services to both residential and business customers.
Responsibilities:
- Asssit in the process to efficiently build and maintain duct and fibre cabling networks while adhering to cost-effective practices.
- Monitor project progress and costs, ensuring alignment with schedules and forecasts.
- Enforce compliance with specifications among contractors.
- Supervise daily activities of civils contractors, ensuring quality workmanship.
- Validate contractor invoices and build claims.
- Address construction issues raised by various departments.
- Uphold Health & Safety standards rigorously.
- Ensure network build meets stringent QA specifications.
- Fulfill statutory obligations in coordinating works with external bodies.
- Minimize construction impact on customers.
- Oversee various Access build activities, including upgrades and network expansions.
- Ensure adherence to specifications, Health & Safety codes, and quality standards.
- Implement strategies to enhance departmental productivity and quality.
- Provide recommendations for network remediation.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Serve as a point of contact for resolving construction issues.
- Preserve and safeguard duct and cable infrastructure.
- Plan and execute small-scale work projects.
- Conduct duct infrastructure testing and reinstatement.
- Address construction defects identified by local authorities.
- Research solutions for enhancing infrastructure resilience.
- Provide guidance to contractors on safe digging practices.
- Perform Health and Safety audits.
Skills & Expertise:
- Extensive technical knowledge of underground network construction.
- Familiarity with civils practices for road openings, repair, and reinstatement.
- Proficiency in GIS/Smallworld.
- Four years of relevant experience.
- Valid clean driving license.
- Knowledge of CATV and RF Network design.
- Understanding of Local Authorities roadworks codes of practice.
- Project planning and coordination skills.
