Our client, a prominent International Technical Engineering and Construction company, is looking for an experienced Project Director to join their team in the Netherlands.This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to play a key role in delivering innovative projects across mission critical sectors, including Data Centres, and Advanced Manufacturing.
As a Project Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently without compromising on safety or quality.You will work closely with clients, consultants, sub-contractors, and internal teams to drive project success, while also contributing to the company's vision of creating spaces that enable the fourth industrial revolution and leave a positive environmental and social legacy.

Responsibilities
- Manage project costs to ensure contribution is achieved and sub-contractors are compliant.
- Develop and monitor project programmes, including Contract and Construction programmes.
- Engage with Pre-construction to ensure project PCSs are completed prior to award.
- Drive value engineering across all elements of the design process.
- Provide strong team leadership for clients, consultants, sub-contractors, statutory authorities, and internal teams.
- Represent the company to external stakeholders to influence key policy and change.
- Conduct meaningful career development discussions and coach potential team members.
- Assess and control variations, ensuring review of EoT requirements.
- Review and understand contract amendments and their implications.
- Manage final accounts for both clients and the supply chain.
- Ensure seamless project handover, including PC Checklists and Building Control.
- Prioritise health and safety, promoting a proactive culture for a safe and healthy environment.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the quality strategy.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field or equivalent industry experience in engineering and construction management.
- Membership in relevant professional industry bodies and institutes including CIOB, RICS, PMI or APM is advantageous.
- Project Management Certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or Lean Six Sigma).
- End-to-End Project Lifecycle Management experience.
- Confidence, enthusiasm, and the ability to encourage creativity.
- Relentless pursuit of goals and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Value Engineering & Cost Control – Experience in optimizing design and construction methodologies to enhance efficiency while maintaining quality and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge – Familiarity with Dutch and EU construction regulations, health & safety protocols (ISO 45001), and sustainability initiatives (BREEAM, LEED).
- Emotional intelligence and the ability to build rapport with colleagues and clients.
- Extensive Experience in Mission-Critical Environments.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to adapt services and systems based on legislation, policy, and best practices.
- Experience in translating business strategy into meaningful plans and objectives.
