Our client, a world leading data centre developer, is looking for a Mechanical Design lead based in Hong Kong. They have a strong construction pipeline for their data centers in Hong Kong as they do globally. They have a really good work culture including flat hierarchy and open communication, plus attractive salary packages, meaning a low attrition rate.
For this role you will lead all mechanical aspects of their data center projects, ensuring efficient, reliable, and sustainable mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptual Design: Develop and lead the design of mechanical systems, including cooling and air handling, to optimize efficiency and energy consumption
- Commissioning and Startup: Oversee the commissioning process for new and upgraded mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support, stay updated with the latest trends and technologies, and represent the company in project meetings
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement and lead the implementation of new technologies and best practices
- Manage the design consultants, reviewing their drawings.
- Main focus design but may occasionally involve some site due diligence work and supporting the leasing and sales teams.
Requirements
- Education: A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience: At least 10 years of experience in data center design and construction or critical infrastructure.
- Skills: Strong understanding of HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing systems, as well as experience with data center or industrial building projects
- Strong in English and Cantonese
