Job Title: Marine Warranty Surveyor
Location: UK and Netherlands
Job Type: Contract
Job Summary: The Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) will be responsible for ensuring that all marine operations related to the subsea cable project are conducted safely and in accordance with industry standards and project specifications. The MWS will provide independent third-party verification and approval of marine activities, including vessel suitability, equipment, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and Approve Marine Operations: Evaluate and approve marine operations plans, including vessel mobilisation, cable laying, and installation procedures.
- Conduct Inspections: Perform inspections of vessels, equipment, and procedures to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks associated with marine operations and recommend mitigation measures.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed reports and documentation of inspections, approvals, and any non-conformances.
- Coordination: Liaise with project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of marine operations.
- Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate any incidents or accidents that occur during marine operations and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Training: Provide guidance and training to project personnel on marine warranty requirements and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in marine warranty surveying, preferably in subsea cable projects.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Marine Warranty Surveyor certification, STCW, etc.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of marine operations, subsea cable installation, and industry standards.
Working Conditions:
- Travel: Willingness to travel to project sites and offshore locations as required.
- Environment: Ability to work in challenging offshore environments and adapt to varying weather conditions.
