Reporting to: Finance Director

In this hybrid role, you'll be working in the office 3 days a week in London office, 2 days remotely at home. The role is an interim, temporary role for a 12 months maternity cover (looking more like 15 months ideally with handover before and after) 

As the Interim Finance Front Office Manager, this role acts as one of the finance front office focal point as well as leading the finance front office team to cover all aspects of contractor payments, client billing and credit management. 

The role requires a good understanding of the front office processes, finance systems and stakeholder requirements in order to ensure smooth efficient delivery. 

The role will coordinate the flow of relevant management information to senior management in the business, reporting on performance versus key indicators such as average payment days and company cash collection. 

Working closely alongside and provide cover where needed for the Finance Director.

The main responsibilities for the role are:

  • Checking and authorising invoices and payments for the team
  • Focal point to consider case-by-case basis for contractor cash advances
  • Good understanding of all the finance and banking systems with a willingness to learn as systems evolve
  • Provide payment forecasts
  • Provide and update reports on a regular basis for cash collection and weekly billing
  • To investigate and deal with issues concerning payment, billing as they arise to the point of resolution
  • Customer service, maintaining good relationships with both contractors and clients
  • Holding Finance Front Office meetings with the team but also regular one-on-one meetings
  • Ensure the relevant finance controls are in place and adhered to by all members of the team
  • Promote accuracy in all the day-to-day tasks and push for a right-first-time mentality

As Interim Finance Front Office Manager of the team, the role also demands:

  • Encouraging a good balance within the team of working hard but also making it an enjoyable working environment
  • Motivate and set a good example to the team, promoting good team work
  • Provide guidance and support to regional controllers globally
  • Understand the regional controllers’ workload, needs and communicate any change or ways of working effectively
  • Plan and manage the workload of the team including cover for leave
  • Understand all the relevant KPIs that ensure an efficient and effective team and continue to push for improvement
  • Help Finance Director provide input into the structure of the department and highlight areas of change where required
  • Maintain professional communication internal and external at all times

Key requirements:

  • At least 5 year experience working in Finance, ideally within recruitment industry
  • Essential to have previous experience with credit control, invoices and payments
  • Has experience leading / managing a team 
  • Worked with Sage previously would be preferential but not mandatory
  • Excellent communication skills, need to call clients and contractors on regular basis via phone
