Position Overview
We are seeking a visionary and strategic Global Vice President of Data Centre Design to lead our clients design initiatives worldwide. Based in Dubai, this senior executive will oversee the conceptualization, design, and implementation of state-of-the-art data centers that align with our business goals and sustainability objectives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in data center design, exceptional leadership skills, and a global perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive global data centre design strategy that supports the company's growth objectives.
- Lead a diverse team of design professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align design strategies with overall business objectives.
- Oversee the design of data centres from concept through completion, ensuring they meet high standards of performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Drive innovation in data centre design, incorporating the latest technologies and sustainable practices.
- Ensure designs adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company guidelines.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and finance to ensure seamless project execution.
- Implement robust project management practices to monitor progress and resolve issues proactively.
- Champion sustainability initiatives in data centre design, aiming to reduce the environmental footprint and enhance energy efficiency.
- Evaluate and integrate green building practices and renewable energy solutions into designs.
- Track and report on sustainability metrics to measure the impact of design initiatives.
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Engage with regional teams to understand local market needs and adapt design strategies accordingly.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, forums, and client meetings to showcase our design capabilities and thought leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in data centre design and construction, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of data centre infrastructure, cooling systems, power distribution, and sustainability practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience leading global teams.
- Exceptional project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage complex projects.
- Professional certifications in data centre design or project management are a plus.
