Field Service Engineer – New York Metro Area

Our client is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join their operations team, supporting the deployment and maintenance of innovative products and solutions for the transportation sector. Based in New York Metro, this role offers a unique opportunity to work in both rail and bus environments, providing critical technical support to customers.

The Field Service Engineer (FSE) is responsible for maintaining installed systems, quickly diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and assisting with new solution installations and commissioning. The role will require travel within the U.S. and some international trips to HQ.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve system faults across various product lines.
  • Provide on-site technical support, including hardware replacements.
  • Configure and commission systems for customer installations.
  • Participate in initial installation and testing for new projects.

You should thrive in a fast-paced environment and be passionate about delivering high-quality solutions on time. Flexibility for occasional travel, including train rides and visits to HQ, is essential.


Requirements:

  • Strong background in network troubleshooting.
  • Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in wireless and data network telecommunications/IT.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hands-on and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Willingness to work outside of regular business hours.
  • Experience with Linux, IP-based networks, and mobile network technologies.
  • Familiarity with the passenger transport industry is a plus.
