Our client is a leading developer and operator in Data Center market working closely with hyperscalers across Asia: China, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Japan. They are currently seeking for a Certified Energy Manager/ Assistant Manager Manager for their expansion in Malaysia. This role is critical in optimizing energy efficiency and sustainability within their data center operations.
The role of an Energy Manager (EM) involves facilitating energy conservation by identifying and implementing various options for saving energy, leading awareness programs, and monitoring energy consumption. This role is critical in optimizing energy efficiency and sustainability within our data center operations. The successful candidate will have strong expertise in data center infrastructure, including power systems, cooling technologies, and UPS systems. Certified Energy Manager (CEM) accreditation is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement energy management strategies to optimize energy efficiency across data center operations.
- Monitor and analyze energy consumption patterns, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
- Conduct energy audits and assessments to evaluate the performance of HVAC systems, power distribution, cooling systems, and other critical infrastructure.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design and implement energy-saving initiatives, including renewable energy integration and advanced cooling technologies.
- Ensure compliance with local and international energy regulations, standards, and certifications (e.g., LEED, ISO 50001).
- Prepare detailed reports on energy usage, savings, and sustainability performance for senior management and stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in energy management for data centers.
- Train and educate staff on energy conservation practices and the importance of sustainability in data center operations.
Requirements:
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) accreditation is mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy management, with a focus on data centers or mission-critical facilities.
- Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power systems, cooling technologies, and UPS systems.
- Proficiency in energy modeling software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and present findings to stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Malaysia’s energy regulations and sustainability goals is a plus.
