Our client, a major global data centre company, has instructed us to search for a design manager in Singapore.
Their sales are excellent and are expanding quickly. They have the funding to allow them to build in lots of locations.
Job Responsibilities:
Planning and Design Management:
Lead the planning and design efforts for data center projects, including defining design schemes, organizing and overseeing the design process, and reviewing construction plans.
Manage the entire life cycle of overseas data centers, ensuring project design plans are formulated and executed effectively. Optimize project costs and enhance quality.
Design Task Coordination:
Coordinate design tasks, continuously optimizing processes. Demonstrate problem-solving abilities on-site and familiarity with construction technology.
Facilitate design disclosure and clarification, oversee design changes, and improve project technology and process management based on implementation experience.
Technical Coordination and Testing:
Participate in factory inspections, commissioning, and comprehensive testing of data center systems and equipment.
Provide technical coordination during construction, manage technical changes, and handle professional technical aspects in later project stages.
Local Communication and Coordination:
Effectively communicate and coordinate with design consultants, owners, government agencies, suppliers, and project contractors in Southeast Asia.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher, with familiarity in green data center industry standards and specifications.
Proficiency in national design codes, including TIA942 and Uptime Tier standards.
Minimum 8 years of design management experience with data center design expertise and ideally uptime design certification.
Knowledge of pre-construction procedures, local laws, and regulations in Singapore.
Familiarity with government acceptance standards related to fire services, power, and other departments.
Strong analytical skills, a sense of responsibility, teamwork, and effective communication.
Experience in project site engineering and problem-solving under pressure.
