Our client, a major global data centre player, are looking for a Data Centre Project Director.
They are growing quickly and have the investment for further expansion with their data center business.
- Lead and oversee all aspects of project and construction management, ensuring projects meet performance metrics.
- Make strategic decisions and guide project teams to implement them effectively.
- Define project scope, objectives, schedules, and estimates, and keep stakeholders updated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage risks to prevent delays and protect the company's reputation.
- Ensure all necessary permits and legal documents are secured before project commencement.
- Provide leadership to project managers, enabling them to manage their teams efficiently.
- Oversee the selection and evaluation of construction contractors.
- Define data center architecture, document performance and equipment requirements, and maintain project documentation.
- Help to manage safety and quality control programs from the subcons.
- Understand technical construction details to offer innovative solutions for cost savings and productivity improvements.
- Continuously improve data center project management methodologies and optimize mechanical and electrical systems.
- Conduct complex business case and data analysis to justify project scope and present findings to management.
- Lead the Project Management Office and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Over 15' years of project management experience, including data centre projects.
- Good relationships with power vendors and construction companies.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems for data centres.
- Familiarity with local laws and customs data center design and implementation.
- Excellent people skills
- Proven leadership experience in managing and developing multidisciplinary project teams.
- Hands-on with the ability to work under pressure in multicultural and challenging environments.
- Hard working.
