API Development Lead
Objective:
Lead the API engineering team in designing, building, and supporting robust APIs that enable frictionless interactions between our bank and external entities. This role will ensure the delivery of high-quality API solutions that align with our digital strategy and meet customer needs.
Responsibilities:
• Lead, manage and mentor a team of API engineers providing guidance, and performance management.
• Develop and implement API strategies aligned with the bank's overall technology and business goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, IT, and business units to understand requirements and deliver API solutions.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in API development and integration, and drive innovation within the team.
• Develop and maintain a roadmap for API development projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
• Manage API documentation and versioning to facilitate integration and collaboration with external partners.
• Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes within the API engineering team.
• Conduct regular code reviews and performance evaluations to maintain high standards of delivery excellence.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to streamline integrations and drive innovation in API solutions.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years focused on API development and integration.
• Technology stack to have experience in:
o Javascript , css , XSLT, Java, J2EE and HTML, Swagger (OAS 2.0/3.0) , Node.js and LoopBack
o HTTP, SOA concepts , REST, OAUTH 2.0 and SOAP
o IBM Datapower 7.5, IBM APIConnect.
• Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams.
• Experience in the banking or financial services industry is highly desirable.
