Our Story

Alistair Rynish and David Taylor

2004 - First Point Group is established in the United Kingdom

Alistair Rynish and David Taylor begin the operations of First Point Group from a small office in London, England. Little did they know that in just a few years First Point Group would become an international recruitment agency with offices across the globe.

2005 - The first major financial milestone

In its first full year of trading, First Point Group reached $1.2 million in revenue and begun developing a reputation as the telecoms recruiter of choice for the major telco organisations. An incredible milestone.

2007 - Building a global presence

After just three years of trading, First Point Group achieved $7 million in revenue and successfully placed candidates in over 50 countries. Our reputation was beginiing to get bigger and better.

2008 - Turnover doubled & International Expansion

First Point Group achieved a whopping $15 million USD turnover doubling 2007's revenue. Our first international officed opened in Dubai and Mexico City. This was the beginning of our international expansion to help our clients and candidates across the globe.

2009 - Winning the Queen's Award

2009 was a special year. First Point Group won the prestigious Queen’s Award for Industry. A brand new office was opened in Hong Kong. First Point Group was then Appointed as Ericsson Global and then became an approved Resource Provider. Which all led to achieving a $35M USD turnover.

2010 - Everything's Bigger in Texas

First Point Group expanded into the USA by opening an office in Dallas. We also celebrated the incredible milestone of successfully placing candidates in 100 countries.

Recruiter Fast 50 award

2012 - More awards & Asia expansion

First Point Group expanded its reach further by opening offices in Spain and Shenzhen. First Point Group was then ranked 23rd in the Recruiter Fast 50 awards. A $50 million turnover was achieved

LSE 1000 companies to inspire Britain

2013 - The awards continue

First Point Group was recognized as an "Excellent Partner" for Human Resources and consulting and was selected as part of the London Stock Exchange Group 1000 SMEs to inspire Britain.

2014 - $64m turnover & named Best International Recruitment Copmany

First Point Group won the award for Best International Recruitment Company at the Recruiter Awards as well as completing 20,000 contracts and achieving a $64 million turnover.

2015 - $75m in turnover & Best International Recruitment Company (again)

First Point Group won Best International Recruitment Company for the second year in a row and celebrated making placements in over 150 countries. That year First Point Group achieved a turnover of $75 million.

2016 - Third time's a charm & a second Queen's Award

First Point Group won Best International Recruitment company for the third year and was ranked 8th in LinkedIn's Most Socially Engaged Companies awards. Following that, First Point Group won the Queen's Award for Industry and Best International Recruitment & Best Client Service at the Recruiter Awards.

2017 - Most Socially Engaged Recruitment Company & Record revenue

First Point Group was ranked in the top 25 for LinkedIn's Most Socially Engaged Companies and announced as a 'Highly Commended' International Recruitment Company at the Apsco Awards. This year First Point Group achieved a turnover of $88 million.

First Point Group once again ranked in the top 25 for the Most Socially Engaged Companies on LinkedIn in 2018.

2021 - Shortlisted for Best Contractor Care Award

First Point Group had a busy year in 2021. We expanded our North America operations by opening an office in Toronto, Canada at the beginning of the year. In September, we were excited to be shortlisted for the Best Contractor Care category at the Recruiter Investing in Talent Awards.

2023 - Winners & Highly Commended

At the prestigious Recruiter Awards, we were delighted to win Best IT / Technology Recruitment Agency for the first time ever. We received 'Highly Commended' for Best International Recruitment Agency and Back Office Operation. And shortlisted for Best Candidate Care and Recruitment Agency of the year - Medium. A very successful evening! 

We also reached $84m in turnover for FY21/22!

Our training philosophy centers around three simple words “why, try, revise”. This process and approach a mixture of classroom and at-the-desk training ensure content keeps fresh in the learner's mindset and avoids content landing on the “learning scrap heap”. This also enables you to grow in confidence by putting into practice the key skills of the role, all carried out under the guidance and support of your designated work buddy or Manager.  Our training is a constant narrative that reflects how quickly the Recruitment industry operates, this also plays well for the one-to-one coaching which covers a multitude of areas focussed around individuals' desire to improve their “soft skills” should they wish.
